Job Title: Quality & Compliance Manager – Renewables
Location: Hybrid – regional offices and customer sites across the South East, with regular London HQ contact
If you care about doing the job properly, this role gives you the authority to raise the standard.
This is an opportunity for a technically credible electrician, QS, compliance lead or quality manager who wants to step into a group-wide role with real influence.
You will be the person who protects customer experience, installation quality, safety standards and accreditation compliance across a growing residential renewable energy business.
Why this role
The company is scaling quickly by bringing regional renewable installation businesses into one more professional, consistent and high‑performing group. That creates a clear need for someone who can set standards, spot issues early, support local teams and hold the business accountable to the right level of quality.
This is not an office‑only compliance role. You will be out across regional offices and customer sites, working with general managers, install managers, electricians, remedial engineers and support teams to make sure standards are understood, followed and improved.
What you’ll do
You will own service quality, post‑installation QC, customer escalations, health and safety processes and accreditation readiness across the group. That will include MCS, NAPIT, HIES, RAMS, site inspections, toolbox talks, incident reporting, audit preparation and compliance documentation.
You will lead investigations into defects, callbacks, complaints and warranty issues, identifying root causes and feeding those lessons back into training, supplier conversations and installation standards. You will also help define what a good install looks like, both electrically and aesthetically, and make sure underperformance is addressed clearly and fairly.
The business already has local teams in place, so you will not be doing this alone. Your role is to spot check, guide, enforce and create group‑wide consistency, while leaning on regional managers and local compliance support where appropriate.
About the company
This is a young, ambitious and well‑capitalised renewable energy group with a practical, high‑performance culture. It is professionalising residential solar, battery storage and low‑carbon installation, while giving strong people genuine ownership and visibility.
About you
You will be a qualified electrician, ideally with City & Guilds 2391, 18th Edition or equivalent credentials, and hands‑on knowledge of electrical installations. Solar PV and battery storage exposure is important, but it does not need to be your entire recent career. Wider renewable, electrical contracting, QS, heat pump or multi‑technology experience would be valuable.
You will be confident on site, credible with installers, structured with documentation and calm when handling complaints, audits or difficult conversations.
Rewards & growth
You will receive £50,000 – £60,000, benefits, a branded company van, hybrid flexibility, 25 days’ holiday plus bank holidays, pension and potential share option participation. You will join a business where quality, compliance and customer experience are central to the next stage of growth.
