If you are the kind of electrician who notices the detail others miss, this is your chance to shape quality across a fast-growing solar business. You will not be there to simply tick boxes. You will be the person who defines what excellent solar PV and battery storage installation looks like, then helps teams reach that standard every time. This is a hands-on, field-based Quality & Assurance Manager role for someone who wants influence, ownership and technical credibility. You will be on site, close to the work, making sure customers receive safe, compliant and high-quality renewable energy systems.

You will join a rapidly scaling UK solar energy group bringing together high-performing regional installers under one digitally enabled platform. The business is growing quickly, with a clear mission to accelerate the UK’s transition to smart solar energy. The culture is practical, ambitious and improvement-focused. Standards matter here, but so does how they are delivered. You will be expected to build trust with installation teams, coach constructively and raise the bar across multiple sites.

What you’ll do:

  • You will own post-install quality control across three regional subsidiaries, carrying out site inspections, assessing electrical compliance, reviewing workmanship and making clear decisions on defects, remediation and sign-off.
  • You will investigate callbacks, customer-reported technical issues, warranty disputes and escalated complaints where expert site assessment is needed.
  • Your findings will feed directly into compliance evidence, accreditation responses, training improvements and product or kit decisions.
  • You will also champion on-site health and safety, inspecting scaffolding standards, PPE compliance, safe systems of work and contractor performance.
  • Where incidents or near-misses happen, you will document the facts, identify root causes and recommend corrective action.

About you:

  • You will be a qualified electrician, ideally with City & Guilds 2391 and 18th Edition, and strong hands-on knowledge of solar PV, battery storage and electrical systems.
  • You may already work in quality control, technical assurance, site inspection or a senior installation role within solar, renewables or electrical contracting.
  • You will be credible on site, confident challenging standards, and able to explain what good looks like without alienating the people doing the work.
  • Experience with MCS, NAPIT, IOSH, NEBOSH, HubSpot or field service management tools would be useful, but practical judgement and technical authority matter most.

Rewards & growth:

This role offers £50,000 - £60,000 depending on experience, plus a company van or car for travel between offices and customer sites. You will have real influence over installation quality, customer satisfaction, safety culture and the long-term reputation of a growing renewable energy group.
