Your New Employer
Join one of the world’s leading clean energy specialists driving the UK’s decarbonisation agenda. This fast-growing organisation delivers large-scale retrofit and new-build projects across commercial and public sector estates, focusing on energy savings, net-zero heat, and full-building services upgrades. With a sharp focus on practical delivery and hands-on engineering, they are transforming how buildings operate through smarter control strategies and integrated energy systems.
Your New Role
This is a role for an engineer who can walk into a building, understand how energy is being used and map out how to make it smarter, lower-carbon, and more cost-efficient. You’ll lead the engineering development of major energy and decarbonisation proposals, working closely with commercial and delivery teams to turn client challenges into practical, costed, technically viable solutions. From initial site audits and feasibility modelling to the development of functional designs and control strategies, your work will form the foundation of high-value, investment-ready proposals. You’ll assess the integration of technologies like air source heat pumps, building management systems, solar, battery storage, and hybrid heat systems. You’ll also consider DNO permitting requirements, constructability, risk, and delivery feasibility.
Your Background
You’re a practical design-focused engineer who thrives on problem-solving in real buildings not just theory. With at least seven years of experience in energy engineering or renewables, you understand the constraints of retrofit and the trade-offs required to deliver high-quality systems. You know how to design with the client’s financial and carbon targets in mind. You’ve likely worked on systems involving BMS, heating, electrical distribution, and clean tech, and you understand how to translate technical analysis into clear, client-facing proposals.
In Return
You’ll take a leading role in shaping how energy is designed, modelled, and delivered across multi-million-pound decarbonisation projects. As the technical lead, you’ll guide an experienced project development team and play a direct role in how clients invest in energy upgrades, balancing innovation, practicality, and carbon reduction. You’ll be part of a collaborative, delivery-focused environment where your input truly drives results. In return, you’ll receive a competitive salary, strong bonus structure, hybrid working flexibility, and a clear path for growth within a business that’s deeply committed to the net-zero mission.
