Your New Role
As a Principal Civil Engineer, you will initially play a crucial role in the development of the 300 MW battery storage project before moving on to a variety of new renewable energy projects. You’ll be responsible for producing technical layouts, conducting site investigations, and liaising with key stakeholders, including local authorities and utility undertakers. You’ll lead the development of civil deliverables, such as layout designs, drainage systems, and foundation plans, ensuring the project’s compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards. You will also oversee technical aspects, including negotiating with statutory bodies, managing consultant appointments, and ensuring that the designs are fully aligned with project requirements. Additionally, you’ll support the commercial, construction, and sales teams by providing crucial engineering insights and addressing technical queries, ensuring the quality and consistency of the project’s technical output.
Your Background
The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in civil engineering. You should have experience with excavations of at least 5 meters in depth, supporting contiguous piles, and designing foundations, drainage concrete foundations, and structural systems. Additionally, experience with frontend design is required. A degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, or an equivalent qualification, is essential. Proficiency with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) is required, and strong verbal, written, and presentation skills are crucial.
