Role and responsibilities
- Lead the technical and compliance side of air source heat pumps, guiding the business through MCS accreditation and setting the standards for installations.
- Support system design, installations and commissioning, acting as the technical point of reference for both clients and internal teams.
- Engage with customers, carry out surveys, advise on solutions and support the commercial side of projects.
- Recruit and manage a small team of engineers, mentoring them and ensuring quality, compliance and performance remain high.
Candidate profile
This role suits someone who has either helped build or run a heat pump or renewables division before, or a senior engineer with five or more years on the tools who is ready to step into a leadership role and take responsibility for a growing service line.
Qualifications
- A recognised air source heat pump qualification suitable for MCS compliance, such as a Level 3 BPEC or City and Guilds 2924-34 (or equivalent).
- A solid plumbing and heating background and strong knowledge of water regulations.
- Experience with unvented hot water systems is important.
- Understanding of how electrical compliance is achieved through qualified electricians.
- F Gas certification or access to it is an advantage where split systems are involved.
