Job Title: Full-Stack Developer (Sustainability & Decarbonisation Software)

This is a fully remote Full-Stack Developer role in an Asset Sustainability team building a mature, mission-led platform used to manage and optimise physical assets (think buildings, equipment, distributed energy, and operational data). The product supports long-term capital planning, energy monitoring, and decarbonisation roadmaps – helping users prioritise the changes that will genuinely move the needle.

No sustainability or energy industry experience is required. If you’re strong in Python 3+, PHP 8+, and MySQL 8+ and you care about sustainability, you’ll feel at home here.

What you’ll be doing

• Building and maintaining features across front end and back end (web + mobile‑deployed web apps)
• Refactoring and modernising an established application while adding new modules and functionality
• Designing database structures and improving performance, quality, and responsiveness
• Collaborating with stakeholders, ops/support, and other devs to deliver scalable, enterprise‑ready solutions
• Reviewing code, sharing feedback, and spotting improvements with a positive, pragmatic mindset
• Troubleshooting bugs and strengthening security, accessibility, and maintainability

What you’ll bring

• 5+ years’ commercial web/software development experience (degree optional if your track record is strong)
• Extensive hands‑on use of PHP 8+, Python 3+, MySQL 8+ (PostgreSQL also welcome)
• Comfort deploying and managing Unix‑based servers, plus CI/CD and Git workflows
• A clear communicator who can work independently in a remote team – and talk through decisions confidently
