You know what good electrical work looks like. This Lead Electrician role gives you the chance to stay hands-on with residential solar PV installations while stepping into a player-coach position, guiding junior electricians and installers, solving problems on site and helping shape the standards of a growing renewable energy business.

You will join an established, expanding solar installation company delivering Solar PV, battery storage, EV charging and home energy systems across Oxfordshire and surrounding counties. The work is mainly domestic, with some smaller commercial projects, and typically stays within a 90-minute radius of Oxfordshire, meaning very limited overnight travel.

Working closely with the Installation Manager, you will lead the electrical side of high-quality solar projects, ensuring each installation is safe, compliant and completed to a standard you are proud to put your name to. You will oversee AC electrical works on residential solar installations, commission inverters and batteries, troubleshoot technical issues and support the wider site team throughout each project. You will also help document and certify your work, maintaining strong standards around inspection, testing and compliance.

This is a hands-on leadership role, so you will be expected to lead by example: setting the pace on site, mentoring less experienced colleagues and helping installers develop confidence around best practice.

You will be a qualified electrician with 18th Edition and 2391 Inspection & Testing certification, which is essential for this role. Ideally, you will bring 2–3 years of practical solar PV installation experience, with knowledge of systems such as SolarEdge, Solis or Sigenergy being highly advantageous. You might already be an experienced solar electrician, or you may be a senior electrician ready to move into a leadership role within one of the UK’s fastest-growing sectors.

You will receive a salary of £48,000 – £52,000, a fully expensed company van, company clothing, pension, 25 days’ holiday plus statutory holidays, and ongoing product training across solar, battery and inverter technologies. As the installation team grows, this role offers a clear route towards future supervisory or management responsibility. Bring your electrical expertise into a role where your standards, leadership and solar knowledge can genuinely shape the future of the team.
