Most BDR jobs hand you one product and a script. This one gives you three routes to a solution and asks you to work out which one actually fits. Some calls end in a search assignment, some in a client advertising on NetZero.Careers, some in a client running the hire themselves on TalentPilot, our own platform. You qualify, not close, and getting that judgement right is what makes you good at this.
Why this role exists
Net Zero Evolution recruits for the decarbonisation of transport and energy: EVs, renewables, hydrogen, and the infrastructure behind them. We built our name in retained and managed search, and we still run it. Alongside it sits NetZero.Careers, our own specialist careers platform, where a client can advertise their own roles, and TalentPilot, our hiring intelligence platform. TalentPilot is free to our clients and built around one honest goal: making them less dependent on agencies, not more, whether that means running a search through us or hiring the role themselves with our support. Three real routes to market under one roof is unusual for a recruitment business our size, and it is what keeps this job a real conversation instead of a script.
What you'll do
You will speak to hiring teams across the UK, Europe and the US and work out what they actually need: search support for a hard role, a place on NetZero.Careers to advertise their own vacancies, or TalentPilot's tools to plan, attract, hire and retain talent themselves. You qualify the need, match it to the right route, and book the meeting or demo with our Client Management team, who take it from there. We use AI to do the research and build the account plans, so you are never handed a raw list of 500 names and left to work out cold who is worth calling. That part is done before you pick up the phone. What happens on the call is entirely yours. Every conversation and every email is written and led by you, never an automated sequence you send and hope lands.
About you
You do not need recruitment or SaaS experience. You do need outbound B2B experience already, cold calling, cold email or appointment setting, anywhere you have contacted someone who was not expecting it and got a result. You are naturally curious, happy asking a second and third question rather than pitching on the first, and organised enough to run a proper pipeline. Because our clients sit across the UK, Europe and the US, your hours need to flex around that: some early starts for Europe, some evenings for the US. That flexibility is part of the job.
Rewards & growth
This is our first BDR hire, so there is no worn path to follow, you set it. The step up to Head of Outbound, with equity in the business as part of that path, exists because whoever builds this seat well helps write the playbook the next BDRs use. You will be based in our London office four days a week, with a fully expensed on-site gym, showers and towel service, and a rooftop terrace.
