We are seeking a motivated and hardworking Steel Fixer Apprentice to join a major construction project based in Woolwich, London. The successful candidate will support steel fixing and reinforcement activities while working alongside experienced site professionals.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with fabricating and installing steel reinforcement structures including rebar, mesh, and cages
- Cut, bend, and shape steel bars using manual and automated tools
- Support installation of steel reinforcement within concrete forms
- Ensure reinforcement is correctly positioned, aligned, and secured
- Work collaboratively with carpenters, concrete workers, and site teams
- Follow construction drawings and site specifications
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working environment
- Follow all site health & safety procedures and regulations
Skills & Requirements
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
- Interest in construction and steel fixing
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work outdoors and in physically demanding environments
- Reliable, punctual, and organised
- CSCS Card required
- CIS Card required
- Previous construction experience is beneficial but not essential
