An established property services organisation is seeking an experienced Level 3 Multi‑Skilled Operative to join its maintenance team in Waltham Forest. This role is ideal for a highly skilled maintenance professional with strong experience across multiple trades who can work independently and deliver high‑quality repairs across residential and commercial properties.
The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out a broad range of repair and maintenance works, with particular emphasis on carpentry, non‑gas plumbing, patch plastering, painting and decorating, and general property repairs. This is a varied, hands‑on role requiring excellent problem‑solving skills, strong customer service, and the ability to complete repairs right first time.

£30,000 - £38,000 per annum (depending on experience)
CONTRACT TYPE

WORKING HOURS
40 hours per week.
Shift patterns: 7:00am – 4:00pm
Shift patterns: 8:00am – 5:00pm
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Carry out a wide range of responsive and planned maintenance repairs
- Complete first and second fix carpentry works
- Undertake non‑gas plumbing repairs, including taps, toilets, sinks, pipework, and leak repairs
- Carry out patch plastering and making‑good works
- Complete painting and decorating repairs to a high standard
- Diagnose faults and determine appropriate repair solutions
- Undertake general property maintenance and refurbishment works
- Work safely within occupied and void properties
- Ensure all work is completed to a high standard and within agreed timescales
- Maintain accurate records of completed works
- Deliver excellent customer service while working in residents' homes and communal areas
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
- Proven experience as a Multi‑Skilled Operative, Repairs Operative, or Maintenance Operative
- Strong practical experience in Carpentry, Non‑gas plumbing, Patch plastering, Painting and decorating, General property repairs
- Ability to work independently across a variety of repair types
- Experience working within housing maintenance, social housing, facilities management, or property maintenance environments
- Strong problem‑solving and fault‑finding abilities
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Full UK Driving Licence
DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE
- Social housing maintenance experience
- Void property refurbishment experience
- Planned and reactive maintenance experience
- Additional trade skills across multiple disciplines
- Experience working within local authority or housing association contracts
