We are currently seeking a hardworking and reliable Grounds Maintenance Operative to join a growing team delivering high-quality communal garden maintenance services to Housing Association clients across Horsham and the surrounding areas. This is a hands-on, outdoor role requiring applicants to be physically fit and capable of working in all weather conditions. Key Responsibilities
- Carry out communal grounds maintenance to a high standard across multiple sites
- Operate grass cutting machinery, strimmers and hedge cutters safely and effectively
- Carry out grass cutting, hedge trimming, pruning and general garden maintenance
- Maintain flower beds, shrubs and planted areas
- Apply weed control treatments (spraying experience preferred)
- Complete litter picking and keep communal areas clean and presentable
- Follow Health & Safety procedures and use PPE correctly
- Work efficiently as part of a team to complete scheduled work
Requirements
- Previous grounds maintenance or garden maintenance experience preferred
- Experience with grass cutting, strimming, hedge cutting, pruning and general landscaping
- Spraying experience is desirable
- Full UK manual driving licence with no previous motoring convictions or disqualifications
- Must be over 21 years of age (fleet insurance requirement)
- Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
- Reliable, punctual and able to work well within a team
- Eligible to live and work in the UK
Monday to Friday
40 hours per week (8-hour shifts)
Optional Saturday overtime available
Salary from £27,352 per annum, depending on experience
