About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Site Supervisor to oversee day-to-day construction activities on district heating infrastructure projects in Worthing, West Sussex. You will supervise subcontractors and site teams, monitor progress against the construction programme, coordinate plant and materials, and ensure work is delivered safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards. The successful candidate will be a confident site leader with strong knowledge of construction health and safety, RAMS, quality procedures and site management.
Main Duties
- Direct and supervise the day-to-day activities of subcontractors and site operatives.
- Monitor construction programmes and ensure works are delivered to programme.
- Coordinate and order required plant, materials and equipment.
- Ensure project plans, risk assessments, method statements and site waste management plans are implemented correctly.
- Maintain accurate site diaries, records and attendance information.
- Carry out regular quality inspections with subcontractors.
- Ensure materials are requisitioned in sufficient time to meet programme requirements.
- Schedule, control and monitor plant and materials.
- Regularly inspect the site to identify and address potential safety hazards.
- Recommend improvements to construction processes and working practices where appropriate.
- Maintain accurate records of site activities and workforce attendance.
- Work closely with the Site Manager, Project Manager, Client and subcontractors.
- Support the successful delivery and handover of the project.
- Lead by example in promoting high standards of health, safety, environmental and quality performance.
- Ensure compliance with company procedures and relevant legal requirements.
- Ensure RAMS are understood and followed by site personnel and subcontractors.
- Ensure safe systems of work are maintained throughout the project.
- Ensure accident and near-miss reporting procedures are followed.
- Ensure all employees and subcontractors are appropriately trained and competent.
- Maintain records of site inspections and corrective actions.
- Produce and maintain Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs).
