We are recruiting for an experienced Site Manager within the Retrofit Housing Sector to oversee retrofit and energy efficiency projects across Manchester. This is an excellent opportunity for an organised and proactive construction professional to lead site operations, manage subcontractors, and ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and to the highest quality standards.

Hours: Full-time, permanent

The Role

As a Site Manager, you will manage day-to-day construction and retrofit sites, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with programme requirements. You’ll coordinate site teams, maintain compliance with health and safety legislation, and ensure quality standards are consistently achieved.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage daily site operations across retrofit and construction projects
  • Supervise operatives, subcontractors, and site activities
  • Ensure works are completed safely, on schedule, and to specification
  • Monitor quality standards and carry out regular site inspections
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety legislation and company procedures
  • Read and interpret drawings, specifications, and project programmes
  • Maintain accurate site records, reports, and documentation
  • Coordinate deliveries, materials, and site logistics
  • Liaise with project managers, clients, and other stakeholders
  • Support audits, inspections, and quality assurance processes
  • Resolve on-site issues quickly while maintaining programme delivery

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Site Manager or Site Supervisor within construction, retrofit, or building services
  • Strong knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and site compliance
  • Experience managing site operatives and subcontractors
  • Ability to interpret construction drawings and specifications
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills
  • Confident using IT systems for reporting and documentation
  • Full UK driving licence
  • SMSTS or SSSTS qualification
  • First Aid at Work certification
  • Experience delivering retrofit or energy efficiency projects
