About the Service:

This is a new, purpose-built children’s residential home designed to support 1–2 children, creating a calm, stable environment with a genuine family feel rather than an institutional setting. The service is owned and led by a highly child-focused and passionate business owner and Responsible Individual with over 20 years’ experience within Local Authority LAC services. She plays an active, hands-on role in leading the home, ensuring staff wellbeing is valued and supported alongside the emotional and developmental needs of the children.

The Role: Registered Manager

We are recruiting an experienced Registered Manager to open and lead this brand-new children’s residential home in Worksop, supporting young people aged 7–17 with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD). This Registered Manager role offers the opportunity to shape the service from day one, with strong operational, clinical and leadership support in place. You will have the autonomy to build a high-quality, therapeutic home while being fully supported to succeed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Register with Ofsted as the Registered Manager
  • Take full responsibility for the day-to-day running of the children’s residential home
  • Recruit, lead and develop a high-performing staff team
  • Ensure compliance with Children’s Homes Regulations and Ofsted frameworks
  • Embed relational, trauma-informed, DDP and PACE-based practice
  • Review and match referrals for a dual-occupancy service
  • Oversee safeguarding, quality assurance, budgets and staffing
  • Build strong relationships with families and external professionals

Essential Requirements:

  • Minimum 1 year as a Registered Manager in children’s residential care or 3+ years as a Deputy Manager ready to step up
  • Significant experience supporting children with EBD
  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (or willingness to achieve)
  • Strong knowledge of Ofsted regulations and residential legislation
  • Confident, calm and compassionate leadership approach
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Right to work in the UK
