The client is a small, family-owned residential care provider based in Nottinghamshire, operating nine children’s homes. Recently rated ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted, the client offers a nurturing and therapeutic environment for children aged 5–17 with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD).

We are currently seeking a Children’s Residential Support Worker to join a dedicated team at an established home supporting up to four children. This role is ideal for someone passionate about making a genuine difference by providing consistent, therapeutic care and acting as a positive role model for young people with complex emotional needs.

About the Role
  • Provide high-quality, therapeutic care for children aged 8–14
  • Support children with emotional regulation, routines, education, and personal development
  • Work collaboratively within a supportive, child-centred team
  • Build positive, trusting relationships with young people
  • Promote emotional wellbeing, resilience, and stability in the home environment
  • Contribute to care planning, daily records, and safeguarding procedures
Essential Skills & Experience
  • Full UK drivers licence
  • Experience working with children with EBD and/or within a trauma-informed care framework (desirable)
  • Strong communication and literacy skills
  • Willingness to work towards Level 3 QCF in Residential Childcare
Training & Development
  • Full training provided, including a comprehensive 2-week induction
  • Ongoing support to complete the Level 3 QCF in Residential Childcare
  • 1:1 supervision and reflective practice
  • Group sessions with the home’s therapist
  • In-house training and continuous professional development

Salary: £13 p/h + £70 per sleep

Working Hours Week 1: 2 shifts - 8am-11pm + sleep (23:00 – 07:00) + 7am-11pm + sleep
Working Hours Week 2: 3 shifts - 8am-11pm + sleep (23:00 – 07:00) + 7am-11pm + sleep + 1 more 7/8am-11pm + sleep either connected or separate from the other two shifts.
