Hours
- Full-time: 174 hours per month
- Sleep-ins: 23:00 – 07:00
- 3‑week rolling rota
Pay
- £12.40 – £12.59 per hour
- £71.28 per sleep‑in

The Role
As a Residential Childcare Worker, you will be part of a caring, skilled team providing day-to‑day support to children and young people. You will create a homely, nurturing environment where they feel safe, valued, and able to grow.
You will:
- Provide daily care, emotional support, and positive role modelling
- Build strong, trusting relationships with young people
- Support routines including meals, schoolwork, activities, and personal care
- Lead and participate in fun, meaningful activities and outings
- Encourage independence and development of life skills
- Follow care plans tailored to each child’s needs
- Maintain accurate records and share vital information
- Promote safeguarding, health, and safety at all times
- Support positive behaviour through understanding, patience, and guidance
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and external professionals
- Take part in regular training and personal development

What We’re Looking For
You’ll be someone who is caring, resilient, patient, and passionate about helping young people thrive.
Essential:
- Working towards NVQ Level 3 in Residential Childcare (or willing to complete within 2 years)
- Experience working with children or young people (ideally in a care setting)
- A strong understanding of child development and trauma-informed practice
- Ability to build positive, trusting relationships
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Flexibility to work shifts, evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Basic knowledge of safeguarding
- A UK driving licence (for certain roles)
Desirable:
- NVQ Level 3 already achieved
