The Role:

We are recruiting a committed Senior Support Worker for an established children’s residential home in Bingham (NG13). This is a beautiful detached rural property supporting three children aged 8–14 with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD). As a Senior Support Worker, you will act as a consistent therapeutic parent, providing high levels of care, stability and emotional support within a nurturing, trauma-informed environment. This role suits someone who values meaningful relationships, reflective practice and delivering genuinely child-centred care.

About the Provider:

The provider is a small, family-owned and fully regulated children’s residential care organisation operating nine homes across Nottinghamshire. Recently rated Outstanding by Ofsted, the organisation is known for its therapeutic approach, strong leadership and genuine investment in staff development and wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities – Senior Support Worker:

  • Deliver therapeutic, child-centred care aligned with care plans
  • Promote emotional wellbeing, positive relationships and personal development
  • Support routines, education and daily living skills
  • Work collaboratively within a supportive staff team
  • Apply trauma-informed approaches including PACE and DDP
  • Maintain safeguarding standards and clear, accurate record-keeping

Training & Development:

  • Full 2-week induction programme
  • Funded QCF Level 4 and Level 5 qualifications
  • Regular 1:1 supervision and group sessions with the home’s therapist
  • In-house training and ongoing professional development
  • Structured career progression pathways

Requirements:

  • Minimum 1 year’s experience in a regulated children’s residential home
  • Level 3 QCF Residential Childcare (or willingness to work towards)
  • Experience supporting children with EBD (PACE/DDP desirable)
  • Strong communication and written skills
  • Aged 21 or over
  • Right to work in the UK (no sponsorship available)
  • Enhanced DBS and safer recruitment checks required
