Net Temps limited are looking to hire an experienced Shift Manager on behalf of our well-known precast client. This role involves leading production teams to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient production, while meeting deadlines and cost targets. The Shift Manager will oversee the effective management of production resources, including equipment, materials, and labour., * Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations.

  • Maintain high product quality standards that exceed customer expectations, both internally and externally.

  • Conduct root cause analysis to address quality issues and ensure effective repairs.

  • Ensure QA inspections are conducted daily, maintaining a QC check rate of over 90%, with results reported at daily KPI meetings.

  • Meet production output targets and exceed KPIs related to OEE, FPE, CTP, quality, cost, and efficiency.

  • Efficiently manage resources for the timely delivery of materials aligned with production plans.

  • Implement productivity improvements using lean principles.

  • Reduce production costs by applying the 8-waste principles where applicable.

  • Train and develop production teams to enhance efficiency and support career growth.

  • Contribute to improvement initiatives and produce weekly reports summarising plant performance and objectives., * Manage Team Leaders/Supervisors, providing feedback, conducting performance reviews, and ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.

  • Ensure all team members fully understand their duties, responsibilities, and safety requirements.

  • Organise staff rosters to meet workload demands, managing overtime as needed.

  • Address attendance, timekeeping, and sickness absence issues, supporting long-term absence management where necessary.

  • Enforce company standards of behaviour and discipline, addressing any minor rule infringements.

  • Lead team pre-shift briefings and communicate company updates, including conducting Toolbox Talks.

  • Work with HR on investigations, policy adherence, performance reviews, probation reviews, and similar matters.

  • Experience in leading Lean and Continuous Improvement initiatives, with a Six Sigma Green Belt (or equivalent) preferred.

  • At least 5 years of operational leadership experience in construction, precast concrete, or manufacturing environments.

  • Proven experience managing teams and addressing performance and compliance issues.

  • Strong understanding of production team management., * Degree or equivalent higher education qualification preferred but not essential.

  • Strong computer skills, particularly in MS Office.

  • IOSH Managing Safely certification required (NEBOSH General Certificate preferred).

  • VFL and First Aid (Emergency Responder) training preferred but not essential.
