Are you a skilled Mechanically Biased Engineer with a passion for keeping industrial operations running smoothly? Net Temps Limited is excited to offer an excellent opportunity for a dedicated Maintenance Engineer to join our client’s team in Ilkeston., As a Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for the upkeep and repair of various factory and plant equipment, ensuring optimal performance and minimising downtime. Your duties will include:

To manage the maintenance team to work safely, professionally and in a timely manner ensuring effective utilisation of the workforce by maintaining good discipline and high standards throughout

Help develop work and equipment usage schedules and prioritize focused expenditures accordingly

To manage, implement and maintain an effective planned preventative maintenance system.

Prepare material and labour costings needed for project feasibility studies (OPEX & CAPEX)

To manage stores inventories to ensure cover for all reasonably foreseeable situations within cost constraints set by Senior Management

Determine appropriate training for employees by evaluating their skills, abilities and behaviours ensuring competence to undertake key duties is maintained

Plan staff rotas including assigning work and sanctioning overtime in advance and as required

Ensure the application of the sites rules of conduct, policies, and health & safety protocols during maintenance procedures to minimize risk of injuries

Participate in occasional on-call programs requiring after hours and weekend involvement and supervision

Through delegation maintain department tools and equipment in good working condition ensuring adequate stocks of consumables are readily available (to include implementation of 5S’s)

To assist the SHE Manager and Coordinator with the timely cascade of information relating to good working practises and lessons learned

Ensure that effective inductions and job training is given to all employees and contractors under your control

Routinely undertake Asset Safety Inspections, Face to Face Safety Conversations and Root Cause Analysis exercises to help promote a culture of "Fix Once Fix Well"

Regularly participate in pre and post shift briefings with production peers and actively contribute to the dynamic reprioritising of planned and unplanned maintenance interventions

University degree or equivalent higher qualification preferred but not essential

Safety Qualification (e.g. IOSH, NEBOSH)
-
Basic knowledge of Electrical Regs 17th Edition

Project Management experience
-
Familiarity with CDM Regulations

Experience of implementing Planned Preventative Maintenance systems
