Overview
Children’s Residential Senior Support Worker – Nottingham
Location: Nottingham (exact location TBC). Job type: Full-time, Permanent. Salary: Competitive + benefits. The role is with a small, family-owned residential care provider in Nottinghamshire, operating nine small children’s homes. The service is rated ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted and provides a nurturing, therapeutic environment for children aged 5–17 with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD).
Responsibilities
- Provide therapeutic care for children aged 5–17
- Promote emotional well-being, positive relationships, and personal development
- Work collaboratively within a supportive and aspirational team
- Act as a therapeutic parent and a key link between the support team and management
- Care for up to 3 children in the home
Essential Skills & Experience
- Minimum 1 year’s experience in residential childcare in a leadership role
- Level 3 QCF in Residential Childcare (or willingness to work towards)
- Understanding of EBD, trauma-informed approaches (PACE/DDP desirable)
- Strong communication and literacy skills
- Applicants must be 21+ and pass enhanced DBS checks
Training & Development
- Full training provided, including QCF Level 4 & 5
- Career progression to Deputy Manager/Manager roles
- 1:1 supervision and group sessions with the home’s therapist
