As they continue their growth, they are looking to recruit an IT Infrastructure Architect to work on multiple projects providing cutting edge IT solutions.
Role Overview:
As an IT Infrastructure Architect, you will be a pivotal part of our technical team, responsible for designing and implementing high-performing, scalable, and secure IT infrastructures for a varied client base. You’ll leverage your expertise in the Microsoft technology stack and networking to architect solutions that align with business goals, ensuring seamless operations and future scalability. The majority of clients are SME businesses looking to modernise their technology, with typical projects ranging from server/cloud/SharePoint migrations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Infrastructure Design & Implementation: Design and architect complex IT infrastructures leveraging Microsoft technologies such as Azure, Microsoft 365, Windows Server, Active Directory, and SQL Server. Lead the development of hybrid and cloud-first solutions that balance security, performance, and scalability. Collaborate with internal teams and clients to assess business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Cloud & Hybrid Architecture: Architect and implement Microsoft Azure environments including IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS solutions. Design and manage hybrid environments connecting on-premises infrastructure with Azure, ensuring secure and reliable integration.
- Microsoft Ecosystem Expertise: Configure, optimize, and manage Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, and Intune. Develop identity and access management strategies using Azure Active Directory (AAD).
- Networking & Security: Design and implement LAN/WAN, VPNs, VLANs, Firewalls, and Network Security solutions to ensure high availability and security. Evaluate and enhance network performance, addressing latency, throughput, and fault tolerance. Work with security teams to enforce compliance with cybersecurity standards, including implementing Zero Trust architecture.
- Technical Leadership & Project Management: Lead infrastructure design discussions, provide technical direction, and guide project teams through implementation. Develop technical documentation, including system architecture diagrams and operational guidelines. Collaborate with clients, account managers, and service desk teams to ensure project success and client satisfaction.
- Troubleshooting & Optimization: Proactively identify and resolve infrastructure performance issues, ensuring maximum uptime and reliability. Conduct root-cause analysis and implement corrective actions to prevent re-occurrence.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Core Microsoft Expertise: Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 design, implementation, administration and configuration. Expertise in Windows Server, Active Directory, and Group Policy Management.
- Networking & Security: Hands-on experience with firewalls, VPNs, VLANs, and secure network design. Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and LAN/WAN concepts. Familiarity with security standards such as ISO 27001, NIST, or CIS Controls.
- Virtualization & Storage: Proficiency with Hyper-V, VMware, and related virtualization technologies. Experience with SAN/NAS storage solutions and disaster recovery planning.
- Project & Stakeholder Management: Ability to engage effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Experience managing and delivering IT infrastructure projects on time and within scope.
