Net Talent is proud to partner with a leading FinTech company in Glasgow, which is looking for a passionate and experienced Cyber Security Lead to join their innovative IT department. This position offers a unique opportunity to spearhead cyber security initiatives while managing a dedicated team in a hybrid working environment, allowing you to enjoy the best of both remote work and in-office collaboration. You will be instrumental in leveraging Microsoft 365 security technologies and fostering a culture of continuous improvement within the team.

Duties

  • Manage, mentor, and develop a small team of cyber security engineers.
  • Set and manage team projects, utilizing Azure DevOps for effective workflow.
  • Oversee service request tickets related to cyber security, ensuring compliance with service desk SLAs.
  • Maximize the value of existing Microsoft Licensing Agreement for better security outcomes.
  • Collaborate with the Security Operating Centre and Networking engineers to drive security initiatives.
  • Act as the technical lead for cyber security-related queries and provide escalation support.
  • Research cyber security best practices and make recommendations for enhancements.
  • Offer technical mentoring and training to team members, promoting knowledge sharing.
  • Ensure active monitoring and timely response to cyber security platforms.
  • Utilize automation tools to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Engage in the strategic selection and implementation of advanced security technologies.
  • Cultivate vendor relationships and evaluate emerging technologies for adoption.
  • Drive continuous improvement in processes to uphold ISO-27001 and Cyber Essentials standards.

Skills Required

  • Proven experience in a Cyber Security Engineer role, preferably at an architect level.
  • Strong knowledge of M365 security technologies (e.g., Defender, Azure).
  • Hands-on experience with various security tools such as Vulnerability Management, Email Gateways, and Firewalls.
  • Experience managing a small team and driving complex IT security projects.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of translating technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and experience with Azure DevOps is a plus.
  • Desirable skills include scripting (PowerShell, Python), strong networking principles, and knowledge of the Mitre Attack Framework.
