The resourcing team at NET Recruit are partnering with a leading manufacturing business, located in Shepperton, to support them on its search for a knowledgeable Mechanical Design Engineer to join the team on a full-time basis. This business has been seeing an increased level of success and workload over the last few years, leading to sustained growth, as it has entered the global market. The company prides itself on designing and manufacturing its products for its customers that meet specific needs presented to them and the business has recently invested more capital into its equipment in order to keep this high standard of output consistent.

Your Role and Responsibilities

  • Proactively being involved in the entire lifecycle of the company's products, from conceptual design to testing.
  • Utilising a variety of analysis tools to refine the created designs so that they support the results of the analysis and simulation.
  • Using 3D CAD software to create and alter engineering drawings where needed.
  • Taking an important position in projects, pushing progress forwards to meet KPIs and deadlines and handling queries as they occur, liaising with the appropriate teams to resolve issues.
  • Collaborating with internal teams to progress manufacturing techniques forwards.
  • Working together with internal departments to resolve customer and supplier issues, identifying the causes and ensuring solutions are devised in a timely manner - using these situations to inform future preventative actions.
  • Implementing and refining test procedures in conjunction with quality control and assembly departments.
  • Acting as a key point of contact and when needed providing technical support across the business.

What you will need to Apply:

The business is keen to hear from applicants with at least 3-5 years of relevant experience within a design and/or mechanical engineering role, and additionally possess a qualification relevant to the field of mechanical engineering. Applicants need to possess knowledge and experience of 3D CAD software and be competent in using this daily. Working knowledge of CFD and Finite Element Analysis is highly desirable, although applications without this will also be considered. Excellent communication skills and the ability to prioritise your workload whilst meeting deadlines are imperative.
