A manufacturing business is seeking a Senior Design Engineer in Portsmouth.
Your Role:
While in this position your duties may include but will not be limited to:
- Producing technical drawings and 3D CAD designs which will be for customers and for manufacture
- Working on the development of new product ideas, creating concepts and seeing them through to full manufacture and launch
- Checking customer information sheets and manufacturing drawings to ensure accuracy
- Working cross-functionally to identify problems during new product development and quality issues
- Ensuring compliance with EN9100 standards and company procedures
- Providing technical support to team members and sales professionals
- Actively seeking ways of improvement and implementing these where possible
You MUST Have:

- Be degree level educated or equivalent within Mechanical or Electronic Engineering
- Have previous experience within a comparable design-based role
- Sound understanding of Creo Parametric or SolidWorks software (and additional FEA experience)
- Knowledge of quality procedures and engineering tolerancing
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office to a proficient level
- Effective communication skills
Your Opportunity:
Providing services and products across the aviation, energy, medical, and space markets, amongst many others, this business offers a wide range of technologies for interconnection applications. This role will be positioned within the Product Design team and will take a senior role in contributing to the development of solutions for customers and manufacture.
For the successful candidate, a base salary of up to £45,000 will be on offer, alongside an attractive package including competitive holiday and pension contributions, life cover, company bonus potentials, and other monetary incentives and employee assistance programs. The company will work closely with the position holder to focus their learning and development. Any training needs will be taken care of, and the business will provide fantastic training materials.
