Known for delivering both off-the-shelf and bespoke systems across a wide range of industries, the business supports clients from small enterprises to large global organisations, as well as major events, festivals, and venues. Due to continued expansion, a fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Service Engineer to join the team, supporting clients across the Northern region, based out of Oldham.

Your Roles and Responsibilities

  • Supporting the delivery, installation and maintenance of radio communication systems, body worn cameras, and associated security technologies.
  • Assisting the sales team with technical input, product demonstrations, and customer enquiries.
  • Conducting site surveys and preventative maintenance inspections (PMI), producing detailed reports and documentation.
  • Carrying out system design, build, factory testing, installation and commissioning.
  • Providing first-line technical support to customers via phone and remote systems.
  • Performing routine servicing, maintenance and bench repairs on customer and company equipment.
  • Configuring equipment across a range of communication and security technologies.
  • Delivering on-site technical support at events, including festivals, sporting events and entertainment venues.
  • Participating in a call-out rota to provide 24/7 support for contract customers.
  • Collaborating with internal teams to ensure efficient project delivery and customer satisfaction.
  • Supporting other regional teams when required, including occasional travel to the Southern office.

What You Will Need To Apply:

  • Proven experience in a technical engineering or service role, ideally within communications, security systems, or related industries.
  • Strong understanding or hands-on experience with RF devices and communication systems.
  • Good working knowledge of IT networks and system configuration (desirable).
  • Ability to carry out installations, maintenance and fault-finding independently.
  • Strong communication skills with a professional, customer-focused approach.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • A proactive mindset with the ability to manage workloads and meet deadlines.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and travel when required.
  • A valid UK driving licence.
  • Security clearance is advantageous but not essential.
  • Familiarity with manufacturers such as Motorola, Hytera, Icom, Kirisun, or Caltta would be beneficial.
