Job Description

A highly successful manufacturing business is searching for an Engineering Manager, to join the team in the Bournemouth area. This role will encompass many elements of design engineering as well as strong team leadership.Your RoleWhile in this position your duties may include but are not limited to:

  • Enabling the R&D strategy to be communicated and understood at the department level, in order to deliver guidance and execution
  • Working within the atomization remit, supporting senior leaders to define the product strategy and key initiatives to support the development of technologies, manufacturing methods and products
  • Driving the atomisation organisation to focus on customer needs and growth
  • Proactively identifying customer focussed product solutions based on customer feedback and market trends that can be translated into new product development projects
  • Expertly using project management disciplines alongside Lean/Six Sigma to improve operational efficiencies throughout the atomisation team
  • Making sure that work is compliant with proactive documentation management, technical drawings
  • Managing the allocation of resources based on project needs and relevant timescales
  • Providing technical knowledge and expertise for engineering personnel
  • Recruiting and developing promising talent, ensuring that skillsets are aligned to business needs and growth

You MUST Have:Please apply ONLY if you meet the following criteria:

  • Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or a similar field
  • Extensive experience within an engineering role, and with substantial exposure to a manufacturing environment
  • Excellent technical skills, particularly in interpreting technical information and handling both concrete and abstract variables
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office and ERP systems, and especially with SolidWorks or other 3D design packages
  • Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong leadership abilities, with the ability to encourage cross-functional collaboration and demonstrated experience in global resource planning in matrixed organisations
  • Familiarity and success in applying Lean/Six Sigma tools
