Graduate Project Engineer to join their team.

Working with customers across a range of industries, the business delivers technically focused products, services and installation projects.

This is an excellent opportunity for a recent engineering graduate to join an experienced project team and develop practical experience across project engineering, technical coordination and customer-facing activities.

The successful candidate will receive structured support and development while gaining valuable exposure to projects from initial design and costing through to installation and commissioning.

Your Role and Responsibilities

  • While in this position your duties may include but are not limited to :
  • Supporting Project Engineers with the planning and delivery of engineering projects from initial handover through to completion.
  • Assisting with the procurement and coordination of equipment, materials and subcontractor services required for projects.
  • Liaising with suppliers, customers, Sales teams, engineers and subcontractors to ensure projects progress effectively.
  • Supporting site visits alongside Sales Engineers and senior project team members to understand customer requirements and assist with technical assessments and costings.
  • Assisting with project handovers, ensuring project scope, specifications, timescales and customer requirements are clearly understood.
  • Helping to prepare project plans, schedules, technical documentation and progress updates.
  • Supporting the coordination of equipment, parts, engineers and subcontractors to help ensure project deadlines are achieved.
  • Providing technical support to customers and internal teams, escalating more complex technical matters to experienced engineers where appropriate.
  • Supporting the installation and commissioning of industrial cooling and HVAC systems.
  • Working alongside engineers and site teams to ensure projects are delivered safely and in accordance with contractual and technical requirements.
  • Assisting with project budgets, cost tracking and associated financial administration.
  • Identifying potential technical or design issues and working with experienced engineers to develop appropriate solutions.
  • Communicating project updates clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Developing practical knowledge of project management, commercial processes, engineering design and customer delivery.
  • Taking an active approach to learning and development, building technical and project management capability throughout the role.

What you will need to Apply

  • A degree or relevant qualification in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • A genuine interest in developing a career within project engineering, HVAC, process cooling or the wider engineering sector.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships with customers, suppliers and internal teams.
  • A positive, proactive attitude and a genuine willingness to learn and develop.
  • Good organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities within a busy environment.
  • A practical and analytical approach to engineering problems and technical challenges.
  • The confidence to work independently while also recognising when to ask questions and seek guidance.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.
  • Familiarity with CAD software would be advantageous.
  • Previous experience within a project, engineering, manufacturing or industrial environment would be beneficial but is not essential.
  • Willingness and flexibility to travel nationally and internationally when required.
  • A full UK driving licence.
  • The right to work in the UK.
