As part of its ongoing growth, the company is looking to appoint a Service Technician to join its field-based engineering team. Your Roles & Responsibilities: While in this position your duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Attending customer sites to carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM), reactive breakdown repairs, warranty work, commissioning activities and hire equipment support
- Diagnosing faults and identifying effective solutions across HVAC and cooling systems
- Servicing, maintaining and repairing equipment in line with manufacturer and company standards
- Using diagnostic software, specialist tools and engineering drawings to identify and resolve technical issues
- Managing service visits efficiently while maintaining the highest standards of workmanship and customer service
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with customers, acting as a trusted technical advisor
- Communicating effectively with Service Desk, Operations and Sales teams to provide updates and share customer insights
- Completing service reports and associated documentation accurately and in a timely manner
- Supporting commissioning activities and equipment installations where required
- Producing clear reports relating to completed and invoiced work orders
- Collaborating with Service Managers, Senior Technicians and colleagues to drive continuous improvement initiatives
- Ensuring all work complies with company health and safety policies and industry regulations
- Participating in an on-call rota, including standby cover, weekends and bank holidays as scheduled
- Identifying opportunities to improve service delivery and enhance customer satisfaction
What You Will Need to Apply: The ideal candidate will possess previous experience in a field-based service or maintenance engineering role within the HVAC, cooling, refrigeration or wider engineering sector. Candidates should have strong fault-finding and diagnostic capabilities, alongside the ability to work independently while managing their workload effectively. Excellent customer service skills and the confidence to communicate professionally with customers and internal stakeholders are essential. Applicants should hold relevant industry qualifications, including F-Gas certification, and demonstrate a proactive approach to problem solving. Experience within manufacturing environments would be advantageous, although not essential. Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications are also required. The successful candidate must hold a valid UK driving licence and have the right to work within the UK. The ideal individual will be self-motivated, customer-focused and capable of delivering high-quality technical support while building lasting customer relationships.
