This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong electrical engineering professional to work across a diverse range of building and infrastructure projects, contributing to projects from initial design through to completion.

The successful candidate will play an important role in supporting project delivery, resolving technical challenges, and ensuring consistently high standards across all stages of the project lifecycle.
Your Role and Responsibilities
While in this position, your duties may include but are not limited to:
- Planning, designing, and developing electrical systems for building and infrastructure projects.
- Delivering electrical engineering solutions throughout the full project lifecycle, from initial concept and design through to installation and completion.
- Working independently on projects with limited supervision while maintaining a high standard of technical delivery.
- Conducting site surveys, inspections, and assessments to gather relevant technical information.
- Researching, analysing, and interpreting technical data to inform design decisions.
- Producing detailed electrical designs, calculations, drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
- Using Revit and AutoCAD to produce and develop accurate electrical design information.
- Utilising lighting design software such as DIALux or Relux to develop effective and compliant lighting solutions.
- Using Trimble (Amtech) for electrical design calculations and system development.
- Preparing and working with NBS specifications to ensure design information is clear, accurate, and compliant.
- Applying a strong working knowledge of BS 7671 across all relevant areas of electrical design and installation.
- Working with CIBSE Lighting Guides and other relevant industry standards to support compliant and effective design solutions.
- Coordinating electrical designs with architects, structural engineers, mechanical engineers, contractors, clients, and other project stakeholders.
- Supporting manufacturing, installation, commissioning, and testing activities where required.
- Providing technical support during site activities and resolving design or installation issues efficiently.
- Reviewing project requirements and identifying appropriate technical solutions while considering cost, programme, safety, and performance.
- Ensuring all designs and technical outputs meet relevant standards, regulations, project requirements, and client expectations.
- Contributing to the successful and timely completion of projects while maintaining a high level of quality and attention to detail.
What You Will Need to Apply:
To be considered for this opportunity, you will need to have a minimum of 10 years' experience within an electrical consulting design environment, with strong experience delivering electrical building or infrastructure solutions.
You will need to be capable of working independently with limited supervision and demonstrate a strong understanding of electrical engineering principles, design processes, and project delivery. You should be confident taking ownership of your technical work while collaborating effectively with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary project teams.
Strong practical experience using Revit and AutoCAD is essential, alongside a strong working knowledge of DIALux or Relux, Trimble (Amtech), and NBS specifications.
You will also need a comprehensive understanding of BS 7671 and familiarity with the CIBSE Lighting Guides, together with an understanding of relevant project and industry standards, including JPS Standards.
Strong communication and organisational skills are essential, as you will be required to liaise with a range of stakeholders and communicate technical information clearly and professionally. You will have excellent attention to detail and the ability to identify and resolve technical issues while working to project deadlines.
A valid CSCS Card is required for the position. Candidates who already hold SC clearance, or who are eligible and willing to obtain the necessary clearance, would be particularly desirable.
