Your Role and Responsibilities

  • Preparing and reviewing monthly management accounts, providing clear analysis and commentary on financial performance.
  • Monitoring cash flow, working capital, and key financial performance indicators, identifying risks and opportunities for senior management.

  • Providing financial analysis and insight to support commercial and operational decision-making.
  • Preparing regular financial reports and management information for senior management and key stakeholders.

  • Ensuring all financial activities are completed in line with company policies, accounting standards, and relevant regulatory requirements.

What You Will Need to Apply:

To be considered for this opportunity, you will need to have proven experience operating at Financial Controller, Financial Accountant, Finance Manager, or a similar senior finance level, with the ability to take ownership of the finance function and make an immediate impact. As this is a 3-month interim assignment, you will need to be confident stepping into an established business, quickly understanding existing processes and systems, and working independently with minimal supervision. You will have strong experience across month-end reporting, management accounts, balance sheet reconciliations, financial controls, cash flow, and general financial accounting. A strong understanding of the wider finance function and the ability to identify and resolve issues quickly will be essential. Strong Excel skills are required, together with experience working with ERP or accounting systems. You should be comfortable analysing financial data, producing management information, and presenting clear financial insight to senior stakeholders. You will also need strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively with both finance and non-finance teams. A commercially minded approach and the confidence to challenge processes and recommend improvements will be highly valued. Previous experience working in an interim or contract capacity would be advantageous, although applications will also be considered from permanent Financial Controllers and Finance Managers who are available for a short-term assignment. A relevant accounting qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent would be advantageous.

What You Will Get in Return:

In return for your skills and experience, the company is offering a competitive salary of up to £60,000 pro rata, depending on experience. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced finance professional to join a successful and growing organisation and make an immediate impact within a key position in the finance function. You will have genuine responsibility across financial control, reporting, cash flow, month-end, and process improvement, working closely with senior management and key stakeholders across the business. The assignment would suit an experienced Financial Controller or Finance Manager who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, can quickly assess and improve existing processes, and is comfortable taking ownership from day one.
