Overview
In this role you will lead and support capital engineering projects across Nestlé’s York and Girvan sites, overseeing design, implementation and start-up phases. You will work with cross-functional teams to ensure projects meet scope, budgets and Nestlé standards while upholding safety and hygiene. You will contribute to a range of investments from 50k to 1m, including new lines and asset modifications, delivering reliable performance. This is an opportunity to influence production capabilities and environmental impact within a global FMCG leader. You will collaborate with Operations, R&D, Marketing and Logistics to drive practical solutions and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities
- Lead and deliver capital engineering projects within agreed budgets and timescales
- Support development of project scope, schedules and budgets for new investments
- Collaborate with project teams to achieve successful outcomes while maintaining high safety and hygiene standards
- Champion compliance with Health & Safety legislation and site procedures
- Lead commissioning and start-up of plant and equipment against performance targets
- Contribute to development of project scopes, budgets and timing plans for projects from 50k to 1m
- Coordinate and support third-party contractors on site
- Collaborate with Operations, R&D, Marketing and Logistics to align scope, timelines and budgets
- Work within multi-disciplinary teams to achieve shared project goals
- Support environmental compliance and minimise environmental impact of project activities
- Report SHE incidents or concerns and contribute to site SHE objectives
Key requirements
- A completed apprenticeship, degree or qualification in Electrical Engineering
- Technical knowledge of modern automation systems
- Strong knowledge of Health & Safety legislation including CE, PUWER and machinery safety
- Experience leading or contributing to engineering projects in a manufacturing environment (ideally FMCG)
- Knowledge or experience of CDM regulations would be beneficial
- Knowledge/understanding of process and packaging equipment advantageous
- Good IT skills including MS Office and AutoCAD LT; MS Project preferred
