This is a fantastic opportunity to join a developing team within a global business as a Senior Service Specialist. Your role will involve managing cross‑border deliveries and engaging key Nestlé stakeholders and our pool of carriers, with attention to detail around compliance, cost, and driving service performance by proactively identifying and resolving potential issues. Our head office in York has been chosen to become the base of Nestlé’s first European Transport Hub. The T‑Hub is responsible for planning and executing Nestlé’s transportation within Europe with a view to simplifying and standardising our European transportation processes. We manage the transport of inter‑market flows between Nestlé’s European factories and distribution centres, as well as inbound raw and packaging materials from our major suppliers where opportunity arises.

Your Impact

You will perform a variety of roles that range from ensuring lead times reflect lane expectations with customs to finding solutions to unplanned delays, dealing with the unexpected but ultimately ensuring that all European market queries are dealt with and every load arrives, and if it doesn’t—why not. All this whilst supporting the KPI balance of cost and service and driving long‑term process improvements for the team. As a Senior Service Specialist, you will manage escalations within the team and support the training of fellow team members.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as point of contact for any service‑related incidents and escalations
  • Complete coaching, training and audits amongst peers
  • Lead process improvement initiatives
  • Prepare and present slide decks for review within the transport department and external partners

Qualifications

  • Exposure to the logistics and transportation industry; evidence of prior roles
  • Proven track record in service‑related roles serving a wide community
  • Understanding of how to manage conflicting business demands – cost vs. service
  • Proven track record in mentoring/coaching other team members
