Overview
Role: Microbiology Analyst
Location: Nestlé Quality Assurance Centre (NQAC), York
We are looking for an experienced Microbiology Analyst to join the NQAC team on a 12 month secondment basis. The Microbiology team ensures that products are free from pathogens and safe to consume before they reach customers.
Salary: £25,125 – £27,000 + potential bonus + other fantastic benefits.
What you will do
- Partake in relevant proficiency schemes.
- Be involved in project and investigation work as required by the business.
- Take part in internal and external audits.
- Assist in cleaning duties and disposal of waste materials.
- Work to high standards of GLP to maintain the section\\\’s ISO17025 accreditation and demonstrate ongoing competency.
- Support the completion of microbiology testing and services to provide a safe, accurate, reliable and efficient testing service to the Nestlé Quality Assurance Centre, York customers in a laboratory environment applying Good Laboratory Practices.
What will make you successful?
- Proactive and enthusiastic Microbiology Analyst with laboratory testing experience.
- Relevant science HND/degree covering Biology such as Food Science Microbiology.
- Experience with test methods and their routine application is advantageous.
- Ability to work on own initiative and manage/prioritise workload in a fast-paced environment.
- Previous experience of traditional food testing methods would be a distinct advantage.
