Job Title – Process Line Operator

Business Unit – Nestlé Purina

Location: Sudbury, Suffolk

Employment type: Permanent

Shifts: Continental shift pattern of 2 days, 2 nights then 4 days off – average of 42 hours per week.

Starting Salary £36,280 moving to £47,911 after successful 6 months’ probation plus benefits

Role context

We have an opportunity for an experienced Line Operator working on a continental shift pattern. At Purina PetCare, we’re committed to helping pets enjoy happier, healthier lives. In our Sudbury factory the 200-strong workforce produces brands such as Go-Cat, Bakers, Purina ONE, BETA and Pro Plan, supporting consumers with products for diverse needs.

Responsibilities

A day in the life of a Line Operator – Reporting to the Line Performance Manager, you will:

  • Operate extrusion lines and associated systems to achieve performance targets
  • Adhere to SOPs and safety, quality and hygiene standards to produce high-quality products
  • Work as part of a team to deliver high-quality products
  • Maintain a continuous improvement mindset and support factory activities to achieve KPIs
  • Adapt to working in different areas of the department and plant as required

What will make you successful

The successful candidate will have a proven track record in Food Manufacturing and be able to demonstrate Good Manufacturing Principles (GMP). You should be thorough, professional and committed to the safety of yourself and others. Ideally, you will have exposure to extrusion equipment (the conversion of raw materials to a semi-finished product). You should enjoy solving problems, exploring how things work, and continually identifying ideas to improve safety, quality and performance to meet consumer needs.
