Role Overview
As an Assistant Brand Manager, you will help manage our local brands Shreddies and Shredded Wheat. Your role includes defining brand strategy, building long‑term plans aligned with our business vision, and gaining exposure to all elements of the marketing mix.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute brand plans, working with the Marketing Manager and leading initiatives to achieve objectives.
- Use insights and data to uncover key portfolio opportunities.
- Embed digital, social, and eCommerce in brand/communication plans.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders locally and regionally, including Brand Teams, Consumer Insights, R&D, Commercial, CDT, Finance, and Supply/Demand Planning.
- Work with external agencies on media planning, creative, consumer promotions, and PR.
- Act as a UK brand marketing team member to drive cross‑team synergies.
- Evaluate marketing programme effectiveness and adjust plans based on learnings.
- Own and manage budget, ensuring effective spend and waste elimination.
- Manage packaging artwork changes and communications.
- Monitor industry and competitor activity, adapting plans to a competitive FMCG environment.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
- Ability to influence at senior levels internally and externally.
- Strong presentation skills, addressing wide audiences from customers to stakeholders.
- Capability to run sizable, complex projects from concept to delivery.
- Prior experience running multi‑pronged communication programmes.
- Experience leading new product launches.
- Track record of using data to evaluate brand performance.
- Project management and analytical skills.
- Strong organisation, attention to detail, conscientiousness, teamwork, pro‑activity, and enthusiasm.
Employment Details
Full‑time, 18‑month contract based at our head office in Welwyn Garden City. Reporting directly to the Local Brands Marketing Manager.
