Overview

Job Title – Maintenance Engineer – (Days)

Location – Sudbury Factory

Shift Pattern – Monday to Thursday 8:00 – 16:30, Friday 8:00 – 16:00

Salary: Circa £47,372.00, plus benefits such as a target bonus scheme up to 5% of basic salary and a competitive pension.

Position Summary

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer (Mechanical & Electrical) to join our team at the Nestlé Purina site in Sudbury. You will work within a strategic and fast-moving factory team with equipment ranging from robots to production equipment. You will report directly to the Maintenance Manager and be part of a team that benefits from a global network while enjoying the support and close-knit feel of a smaller team.

Our Sudbury factory of ~200 strong workforce produces popular brands including Go-Cat, Bakers, Purina ONE, BETA and Pro Plan.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the basic condition of machines through reactive, preventative and predictive maintenance activities.
  • Support breakdowns and participate in line improvements; act as the Subject Matter Expert for your area.
  • Drive a safe culture and eliminate safety risks.
  • Ensure all work is completed to a high engineering standard following GMP and safe systems of work.
  • Ensure compliance with the Nestlé quality policy, particularly engineering change management and line release.
  • Record breakdowns, perform root cause analysis and own follow-up actions.
  • Support Root Cause Analysis practices and projects.
  • Support capability build of Shift Technicians, Apprentice Technicians, and the AM team as part of the TPM roadmap on site.

What will make you successful?

We expect you to have experience in a manufacturing maintenance environment, with a strong service orientation to internal stakeholders and a proactive drive for continuous improvement.

  • Educated to apprenticeship level NVQ 3 in Engineering or equivalent; an electrical bias is essential.
  • Ideally, a proven track record in an FMCG food environment.
  • Proven track record in Planned & Preventative Maintenance (essential).
  • Proven track record in problem-solving methodologies (essential).
  • Understanding of lean manufacturing tools including TPM (preferable).
