What to expect
As the Maintenance Buyer , you will supervise the procurement processes for the entire factory. This position is responsible for transforming vendor requests into purchase orders, leading procurement activities, and ensuring compliance with procurement practices. The Maintenance Buyer will review standing orders, block invoices as necessary, and generate finance reports while forecasting monthly needs. Collaboration with planners is crucial to maintain optimal inventory levels and handle vendor relationships effectively, ensuring a seamless supply chain and operational efficiency.
A day in the life of a Maintenance Buyer
- Purchasing of parts and services for the maintenance department.
- Enable world class maintenance by providing the right spare parts at the right time in the right conditions, for all maintenance activities, including Extraordinary Maintenance and Special Charges.
- Support with technical store data to build a zero-based maintenance budget. Drive the Technical Store financial tracking and forecast linked to planned maintenance.
- Drive in a teamwork and proactive way the technical stores, as service provider to the operations team.
- Track and manage in an open and visual way all technical stores performance indicators, interacting with the users
- Ensure the technical store assets and activities respect all requirements regarding safety, food safety, environment, water and energy consumption at the site by analyzing the potential impact of any variables (e.g. flammable materials, chemical and lubricants storage, spares for food contact, safe location of parts, safe condition of shelves, etc.)
- Sourcing of best suppliers. Maximize Nestle preferred agreements.
- Maintain database of suppliers and parts. Working with procurement to set up new vendors and make necessary vendor changes.
- Work closely with Maintenance Group Leaders and Maintenance Stores Attendant to ensure adequate supply of parts.
- Responsible for the store management KPI’s (cycle counting completion, inventory record accuracy, non-used materials and obsolete stock).
- Generate reports and track maintenance spending.
- Continually review existing processes and procedures to implement improvements in accordance with Nestle standards.
- Work with millwrights, electricians, operating engineers, production employees and other functions to ensure business continuity.
- Control stores inventory value.
- Assist with pro cessing invoices.
- Ensure compliance with Nestle polices and standards.
- Collaborate with market subject matter experts to implement best practices .
Role Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance or Diploma in food science or any related field or equivalent technical purchasing experience
- 3 years of experience in a technical field, preferably food manufacturing or consumer goods industry.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Advanced understanding of SAP technical stores management (stores optimization tool).
- Excellent negotiation skills, solid financial acumen and strong attention to detail.
- Ability to manage in a dynamic environment.
- Strong communication skills and teamwork oriented.
- Quick study, proven ability to manage and anticipate change and strong decision-making abilities.
- Power BI knowledge is an asset.
