Position Summary
We are currently looking for an experienced Legal Counsel to join our team on a 12-month mission in Gatwick, starting around June/July 2025. Depending on circumstances, this role could potentially be done virtually. Reporting directly to the General Counsel & Head of Legal Services for Nestlé UK & Ireland, you will work as a strategic partner supporting our global businesses from a legal perspective. This role offers the opportunity to develop both your commercial and leadership skills by providing guidance to the Business Units you support, ensuring top-tier legal service.
A day in the life of a Legal Counsel
You will act as a business partner and sit on the UK&I leadership team of one or more Business Units. You will shape the implementation of our legal strategy and provide tactical support to help the Business Units achieve their objectives. Building trusted, long-term relationships with key internal and external stakeholders is fundamental to our success.
You will provide proactive, solution-oriented, strategic advice on a wide range of non-contentious issues including:
- IP and brand portfolio
- Contracts
- Data protection
- Employment
- General commercial law
- Media and advertising
- Regulatory/compliance
What will make you successful?
You will be a qualified lawyer with ideally 3-5 years of Post Qualification Experience (PQE). English or common law experience is not a prerequisite. A background in intellectual property, competition, data protection, or general commercial law is preferred, but we will consider other relevant experience.
You will also need:
- Strong commercial acumen with a practical and pragmatic approach, and a thorough understanding of the competitive landscape.
- The ability to work independently and proactively, motivated to succeed.
- The right approach and experience to support our goal of being a world-class legal function.
