We are currently recruiting for a Territory Sales Manager - this role blends key customer management with fast paced new business development and contributes to delivering ambitious growth plans within the Purina team.
Your impact: This is an exciting and diverse role where you will drive new business and grow our relationships with clinics and clinical groups, achieving best in class activation of all NPD and brand initiatives within Purina accounts. You will drive the conversion of vet practices within corporate clinics and clinical groups to stock PRO PLAN and PRO PLAN Veterinary Diets first line to achieve territory sales conversion targets.
Responsibilities:
- Achieve monthly, quarterly and annual targets for sales and recommendation of the PRO PLAN and PPVD brands through effective management of existing accounts and acquisition of new business.
- Achieve new clinic conversion numbers in line with targets and target clinics/clinical groups, using developed sales and negotiation skills to win new business.
- Achieve KPIs for Strategic Plan focus areas, including NPD and in-clinic initiatives.
- Effective management of customers through optimized contact and visit strategy, including routine visits, quarterly reviews, staff training, category relays, advocacy days.
- Acquire and maintain a high level of technical product knowledge to facilitate conversations with all levels of practice staff.
- Deliver training tailored to practice requirements when needed to achieve sales and recommendation objectives.
- Understand customers’ strategy and competitor activity and feed insights internally to support channel planning.
- Develop and implement jointly agreed Customer Business Plans to achieve targets in line with Channel strategy and execution of Key Sales Fundamentals.
Your ingredients for success: We’re looking for candidates who are passionate about nutrition. You will have demonstrated successful performance within sales and be passionate about building high-value customer relationships, with strong commercial acumen and a focus on delivering results. You will be self-driven and able to deliver new business wins vs. stretching targets. You should be able to adapt your communication style to a broad range of decision makers, be resilient in challenging situations, and influence internally and externally. Ideally, you’ll have the below skills and experience:
- A proactive nature with commercial awareness and excellent numeracy skills
- Veterinary channel experience is beneficial
- Knowledge of companion animals or the pet industry is beneficial
- Highly proficient in Excel and comfortable using other Microsoft Office programs
- IT literate, analytical, and able to make use of insightful information
- Organised and adept at planning and prioritising workloads
- Ability to travel within designated geographical territory
