The predicted salary is between 37350 - 45650 £ per year.

Salary: £63,771.00 (inclusive of shift premiums and contractual overtime)

Shift Pattern: Shift work is required and is a mixture of morning, days, afternoons, and nights. This will be explained in further detail at interview stage.

  • Morning shift: 05:50am - 13:50pm
  • Day shift: 07:50am - 15:50pm
  • Afternoon shift: 13:50pm - 21:50pm
  • Twilight shift 1: 15:50pm - 23:50pm
  • Twilight shift 2: 17:50pm - 01:50am

We have a fantastic new opportunity for a skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our York Distribution Centre on a permanent basis. At York DC we want to be famous for our people and have an ambition to become a Centre of Excellence for logistics in the market. We have a plan to make us pioneers for condition-based maintenance in automated warehousing & ambassadors for digital tools that we will then share knowledge across other Distribution Centres.

We distribute Nestlé products from a broad range of categories including Confectionery, Beverage, Food, Dairy, Waters and Cereals to our customers in the UK and Ireland as well as some export markets.

Your impact:

Reporting to the Asset Maintenance Manager you will be responsible for the implementation and execution of the Distribution Centre asset maintenance programme aimed to eliminate unplanned stops and optimise maintenance cost and as a result increase asset intensity. Other key responsibilities of this role will include:

  • Repairing, reporting and analysis of unplanned technical failures.
  • Providing input for annual maintenance budget; as well as reporting and tracking of the maintenance work order costs.
  • Execution of planned and scheduled maintenance.
  • Provide technical expertise to reduce both technical and production losses.
  • Provide coaching and/or participating in problem solving, implementing solutions, sharing knowledge and building competence.

Your ingredients for success:

Ideally, you will come to us as an experienced and qualified Engineer, preferably with a strong background in an FMCG environment. Other qualities will include but not be limited to:

  • Will have an NVQ Level 3 and National Certificate or Diploma in Electrical Engineering or equivalent, as well as a time served apprenticeship (please ensure detailed on CV).
  • Ideally you will be dual trained (mechanical and electrical) with proven experience in manufacturing - food industry experience is preferable.
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS7671) – preferable.
  • Experience in Installation and inspection and Testing e.g minor works training or City and Guilds.
