Position Summary
We are currently recruiting for a fantastic opportunity to join our Nestlé Sustainability team as Regenerative Agriculture Manager. This role will be based in either our Gatwick or York offices, reporting directly into the Regeneration Lead for Nestlé UK & Ireland with a dotted line into our Head of Sustainability.
The regenerative agriculture manager will play an important role in advancing our sustainability agenda focused on \’advancing regenerative food systems at scale\’. They will focus on driving a transition towards more regenerative agricultural practices to reduce Nestle\’s Scope 3 footprint and improve soil health, biodiversity and nature outcomes within the supply chains of our locally sourced ingredients including dairy, cereals and sugar.
The role will involve working closely with suppliers, farmers, implementing partners and a wider network of stakeholders across Nestle to engage them on the journey, build and implement programmes and partnerships, innovate to find new solutions to existing challenges and seek to drive change at scale. You will work closely across a range of Nestlé business units including confectionary, cereals, and petfood to help measure and track the progress being made and to help bring the work we are doing to life through our brands for customers and consumers.

A day in the life of the Regenerative Agriculture Manager
A day in the life of the Regenerative Agriculture Manager will see you working towards the goal to source 50% of key ingredients from farms using regenerative agricultural practices by 2030. This will require partnering with all Nestlé businesses (product categories), suppliers, and external partners to help plan and implement strategies to achieve this. You will:
- Play an active role in implementing and continuously improving the UK & I strategy to improve the environmental performance of our ingredients supply.
- Manage existing regenerative agriculture projects (e.g. Landscape Enterprise Networks (LENs)) to ensure they deliver across a range of environmental and social outcomes and track key metrics and performance in Nestle systems.
- Work with the regeneration team to identify, prioritise and create the business case for new regenerative and/or landscape restoration projects and work with partners to deliver MRV capabilities, systems and processes.
- Liaise with and manage relationships with farmers and suppliers to continue to strengthen partnerships and trust with Nestle, and to facilitate regeneration projects as well commercial and customer facing activities such as farm visits. Getting out on farm, visiting suppliers and meeting with partners will be a regular part of your schedule.
- Support the businesses with incorporating regenerative agriculture and landscape restoration activities into the brand proposition.
- Provide agronomy and technical expertise to give support, guidance and training to develop knowledge on regenerative agriculture and landscape restoration across the organisation.
- Input to key communications assets to share our work with others to help encourage more collaboration, to build confidence in our approach and to help build trust in Nestlé.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in sustainable agriculture and agronomy, a great network in UK&I agriculture and be familiar with interacting with a range of stakeholders on farm and up and down the value chain.

You\’ll be willing and eager to engage across a whole range of teams and categories to help create compelling, high impact initiatives that deliver for both us and our supply chain stakeholders. - Understand the importance of working in partnership with a range of stakeholders to deliver results.
- Be curious and courageous, we\’re not afraid to think differently and embrace new ideas. We want you to disrupt what we do in the right way and drive great results and change. Be willing to speak up, input ideas and challenge the status quo to help drive change.
- Demonstrate the ability to learn quickly, a commitment to professional growth, and take ownership of your personal development journey.
- Good interpersonal skills, able to engage with different stakeholders across different levels of seniority.
- Demonstrate a keen interest and passion for sustainability across, environmental, social, economic and health.
- Familiarity with carbon measurement, accounting and protocols in FLAG scope 3 projects is a plus!
