Position Summary What can you expect from a career in the Nestlé Sales Team? Every day and Everywhere, we are building a Sales community of unique people, that thrive together, make a positive difference and deliver market leading results.
We have an exciting opportunity to join Nestlé UK as Digital Commerce Manager, working in deep partnership with our most strategic UK grocery retail customers to create joint value and accelerate Nestlé’s online market share growth. The role sits at the intersection of commercial strategy, digital decision‑making, and customer partnership. While the commercial account team retains full P&L ownership, this role is designed to create disproportionate impact by shaping how online decisions are prioritised and executed within the retailer - building structural digital advantage for Nestlé. This is a high‑visibility role with direct exposure to senior customer and Nestlé stakeholders. You will operate as a trusted advisor, influencing long‑term growth levers rather than managing day‑to‑day execution. For the right individual, this role offers accelerated learning, and a clear pathway into senior digital or commercial leadership roles within Nestlé.
A little bit about us Nestlé UK is the world’s leading food and beverage company, with a portfolio spanning some of the most trusted and loved brands in households across the country. As online grocery continues to grow rapidly, Nestlé is committed to winning in this channel not just through execution, but through long-term, sustainable advantage. This role sits at the heart of that ambition - helping Nestlé and our retail partners grow together by shaping the future of digital decision-making.
Your Impact Working as part of our Digital Commerce and Customer Business teams, you will be responsible for building deep, trusted partnerships with a strategic retail customer to help improve how online growth decisions are made and prioritised. You will operate as the embedded partner - influencing decision frameworks, identifying early growth signals, and helping the retailer’s systems and processes deliver better outcomes for shoppers and for Nestlé. This role does not own P&L, negotiations, or execution. Instead, it strengthens Nestlé’s commercial performance by shaping the environment in which those outcomes are achieved.
You will also:
- Act as Nestlé’s digital decision partner within a strategic retail customer, operating with credibility and autonomy
- Identify and translate cross-category Nestlé learnings into actionable recommendations that improve online visibility, relevance, and conversion
- Influence how the retailer prioritises products, availability, substitution, and recommendation decisions in high-intent moments
- Work closely with Nestlé Senior Account Managers, Account Controller’s, Brand, Category, Supply Chain, and Media teams to ensure alignment with agreed decision principles
- Establish and maintain clear governance, success metrics, and learning loops for the partnership
- Support the development of scalable playbooks and frameworks that can be applied across other customers over time
- Provide clear, evidence-based recommendations that improve speed and quality of decision-making
- Monitor external trends, competitor behaviour, and emerging technologies to ensure Nestlé remains ahead of market evolution
Your ingredients for success You will have demonstrated commercial impact in a customer or category role, with experience operating and orchestrating across multiple stakeholders. You will bring a combination of:
- Strategic thinking
- Commercial acumen
- Strong influencing capability
- Comfort operating in ambiguity
This role requires gravitas, curiosity, and the confidence to challenge constructively. You will also:
- Have experience working with large retail or consumer-facing customers
- Demonstrate the ability to analyse complex information, identify patterns, and translate insight into clear recommendations
- Be highly customer-centric, always seeking to create value for both Nestlé and our partners
- Show an entrepreneurial, innovative mindset - willing to think differently and challenge established ways of working
- Be comfortable operating without formal authority, relying on credibility, evidence, and relationships
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to learning and personal development
