Job Title: Manufacturing Goods in and Dispatch Manager
Location – Sudbury Factory, Suffolk
Salary ranging from £55,000 to £60,000 plus a 17% car allowance and potential bonus + excellent benefits

Position Summary
We have an exciting opportunity for a Logistics Manager to join our Purina team at our Sudbury Factory in Suffolk. As part of the Factory senior leadership team, this position reports to the Factory Manager. You will be responsible for the physical logistics activities, driving continuous improvement in safety, cost, and performance, with hands-on management of the factory logistics team.

Our Sudbury factory employs 200 staff and produces some of the UK’s most popular brands including Go-Cat, Bakers, Purina ONE, BETA, and Pro Plan. Plus, London is just a 45-minute train ride away from nearby Colchester.

A Day in the Life of a Logistics Manager
As Logistics Manager, you will oversee the end-to-end logistics and distribution of finished goods. Managing daily operations, coordinating with logistics partners, and acting as a point of escalation for operational issues.
Further duties include:
- Setting targets for warehousing service and cost KPIs, and tracking performance against these targets
- Implementing continuous improvement initiatives based on best practices and tools
- Managing Safety, Health, Environment, Quality, and CARE regulations
- Driving cost-saving initiatives to improve warehouse performance and costs
- Controlling and managing the warehousing budget and investment requirements
- Supporting procurement in contract negotiations and managing relationships with service providers
- Influencing distribution management, production planning, and customer service to improve service and reduce costs
- Supporting LEAN initiatives to develop a continuous improvement culture
- Ensuring compliance and managing audits within your area
What Will Make You Successful?
Successful candidates will have operational leadership experience in warehouse management at a market or business level, with the ability to inspire trust and transparency.
Key attributes include:
- Proven track record in projects like warehouse design, distribution network redesign, high-performance logistics, and customer logistics
- Hands-on people management experience, motivating and coaching a team of around 12 staff
- Experience in manufacturing environments related to goods in and dispatch functions
- Experience with LEAN principles and tools is desirable
- Strong business planning, budgeting, and cost management skills
- Ability to work under pressure while maintaining quality and meeting deadlines
