About Us
We’re Nested Loop, a mission-driven startup building the future of clean energy through smart home technology. We are entering a key product development phase and looking for a driven, hands-on Full Stack Engineer to lead the next stage of development on our customer-facing app.
The Role
We are hiring a Full Stack React Engineer on a fixed-term contract to lead the technical development of our app. We already have an MVP in place — your role will be to refine and extend it, making both visual and logic-level improvements to get it production-ready. You’ll own the full development cycle from architecture through to launch, working closely with the founder and a small cross-functional team. This is a great opportunity for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments and enjoys shaping products with impact.
Responsibilities
- Take ownership of an existing MVP and lead updates across both frontend and backend
- Improve app UI/UX and implement new features using React (or React Native)
- Refactor or extend backend logic (Node.js, Firebase, or similar)
- Integrate APIs, hardware interfaces, and cloud services
- Set up CI/CD pipelines and deploy secure, scalable systems
- Collaborate with product and design to refine feature requirements
- Ensure high code quality with testing, documentation, and maintainability in mind
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience in full-stack JavaScript/TypeScript development
- Deep experience with React (or React Native), and Node.js backend frameworks
- Strong understanding of component-based architecture and state management
- Experience building and deploying cloud-based apps (Firebase, AWS, Vercel, etc.)
- Solid grasp of REST APIs, database design (SQL/NoSQL), and authentication flows
- Ability to work autonomously and take ownership of full delivery
- Comfortable working in fast-paced, iterative startup environments
Nice to Have
- Experience working on MVPs or greenfield apps
- Exposure to hardware or IoT integrations
- Familiarity with energy, sustainability, or smart home technologies
What We Offer
- Autonomy and ownership in a purpose-led product
- Collaborative and flexible remote team environment
- The chance to lead development and shape the future of clean home energy
