Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Data Governance Lead to help scale Nest’s data governance across a hybrid cloud environment, enabling trusted data, regulatory compliance and data‑driven decision making.
The role involves designing and embedding an enterprise data governance capability, improving data maturity, and creating cultural change around how data is managed and valued within one of the UK’s largest pension schemes.
Responsibilities
- Design and embed an enterprise data governance framework that spans Azure Databricks and AWS native services, ensuring consistency in principle while pragmatic in implementation.
- Drive the adoption of a structured, well‑understood operating model with clear accountability, standards and measurable outcomes.
- Engage senior stakeholders across technology, data, risk, information security and business to embed accountability and inspire cultural change.
- Collaborate with the Data, Analytics and Customer Insight directorate to support the delivery of actionable data visualisations, customer insights, and predictive analytics.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in Data Governance roles.
- Previous experience in a financial institution with a focus on data governance.
- Demonstrable track record of improving data governance maturity within an organisation.
- Hands‑on knowledge of Azure Databricks and AWS native services.
- Strong stakeholder‑management, communication and change‑management skills.
- Work Arrangement
The role supports flexible participation, including hybrid working with a requirement to attend the office (Canary Wharf, London) once to twice a week as needed.
