This role works within the Investment Operations team, which is part of the Investment Directorate and delivers the operational capability to support the investment strategy, accounting of the scheme assets, supporting the preparation of monthly accounts, and the annual reporting and accounts for the scheme.

To develop this ongoing culture and operational capability, Nest Invest is looking to recruit a Senior Investment Operations Analyst to play a key role in the team that provides operational control and oversight of Nest Invest’s key outsourced providers; our Fund Administrator and Fund Managers.

This is an incredibly exciting time in Nest Invest’s future growth agenda, and the Investment Operations Analyst will play a key role in ensuring the organisation is successful in their ambitions. We are looking for someone who has:

  • An understanding of the fund administration process specifically around pooled and segregated funds, and custody.
  • Understanding and practical experience of working with fund accountants, custodians, and third-party administrators.
  • A working knowledge of fund accounting and general ledgers.
  • Intermediate knowledge of working with Microsoft Excel including pivot tables, v lookups, macros, designing formulae.
  • An understanding of regulation governing pension scheme investments.
  • Strong team working skills and willingness to support others.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and take ownership of tasks.

Directorate/Department Overview: The Investment Directorate (Nest Invest) is responsible for investing members’ contributions to grow their retirement pots over the long-term. The responsibilities of the team include:

  • Asset allocation and portfolio risk management
  • Manager selection and monitoring
  • Responsible investment
  • Investment communications
  • Investment operations
  • Investment technology and financial modelling
  • Contributing to the development of the investment proposition

From December 2019, the Nest Investment team was seconded into Nest Invest Ltd (Nest Invest), the investment subsidiary of Nest Corporation. Nest Invest is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA). For the role holder, this means working in a regulated entity and being required to adhere to certain rules and behaviours included in the FCA’s Code of Conduct (COCON), specifically the individual Conduct Rules defined by the FCA.
