Job Description

Role OverviewWe are seeking a proactive and collaborative finance-focussed Risk Officer to join our Enterprise Risk team in a vital role supporting the oversight of financial risk and financial resilience.What you'll do
  • Finance risk: Collaborate with and support the finance team with assessing the impact of potential risks on financials and support with financial resilience .
  • Monitoring and reporting: Monitoring risk indicators and preparing risk reports.
  • Risk management: Supporting the organisation in identifying and managing its finance risks.
  • Policy management: Working in partnership with different teams to manage their policies.
  • Contribute to the delivery of key risk initiatives, including the rollout of the new Risk & Compliance system.

The minimum criteria for this role are:

  • Experience of working in finance, accountancy, audit, financial risk or similar.
  • A strong sense of accountability, of knowing what you are responsible for and proactively delivering it.
  • The ability to understand and thoroughly investigate an issue, and provide challenge where necessary.
  • An interest in oversight of finance risk.
  • Experience of working collaboratively with different teams across an organisation.

As a second line function, it provides advice and support to the business on risk and compliance and it oversees and provides compliance assurance.The Enterprise Risk team is accountable for the development, implementation and on-going maintenance of the risk management and controls framework across Nest and oversight of the management of key risks and controls. The team is also responsible for ensuring adequate insurance coverage for the business in line with the insurable risks that Nest faces.Reporting to the Head of risk. This role will support delivery of the enterprise risk management framework, controls framework and policy framework including liaising with the first and second lines of defence on risk-related topics and managing risk processes such gathering information for reporting, risk event management, insurance and policy management. Key support to the business in managing and maintaining their risks that support the delivery of our strategy, and to support the wider Enterprise risk team in preparing risk reports to the Executive Risk Committee, Risk Committee and Board.
