The Project Manager will report directly to the European Engineering Manager.

Role

Ability to take on the management of key client projects, project management responsibilities; including delivering every project on time, within budget and within scope. The Project Manager is the person who is tasked with leading a project from inception to completion. This person is the principal point of contact for a project to both the customer and to corporate management and is responsible for planning, coordinating and implementing projects according to the specified requirements and timelines. Although this person does not personally implement specific product requirements, the Project Manager is responsible for accomplishing project goals by defining attainable objectives, creating the project schedule and ensuring that all of the internal and external organizations contributing to the project are meeting their portions of the project objective.

Key responsibilities

  • Coordinate with internal managers/leads for the flawless execution of projects
  • Experience with EPC or Telecoms System Integration construction management
  • Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget
  • Review resource allocation and availability with managers/leads and escalate issues
  • Develop a detailed project plan to monitor and track progress
  • Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule, and project costs using appropriate verification techniques
  • Successfully manage the relationship with the client
  • Perform risk management to minimize project risk
  • Provide project accounting with weekly or bi-weekly labour cost information detailing the people working on the project and the hours spent working on the project for each week
  • Review and approve all purchase requisitions that cover material and cost that are within the limits of the AFE and are in the plan and budget of the project
  • Review in detail along with project accounting all of the financial information contained in and maintained by accounting in the project financial tracker, including the project financial summary
  • Present oral and written reports defining plans, problems, and resolutions to appropriate levels of management
  • Ensure that project status, issues and successes are communicated to project team and all levels of management and documented appropriately
  • Ensure open communication on the project team
  • Address delicate situations and handle conflicts in such a way as to maximize opportunity and minimize exposure to risk

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Engineering degree from a recognized university OR technical institute or significant relevant experience together with appropriate formal qualifications
  • Project Management Professional Certification
  • Experience in Oil and gas, EPC or Telecom System Integration project management and installation experience 5-15 years and technical experience, including installation, setup, administration and maintenance of communications systems offshore and onshore

Key Competencies

  • Strong working knowledge of EPC and/or TSI services such as CCTV, PAGA, Cisco and related wireless technologies
  • Strong planning, analytical and technical skills with ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Able to identify gaps and seek improvement
  • Skilled at communication, risk and problem solving
  • Experience creating and manipulating schedules and project plans within MS Project, Primavera, or similar PM Scheduling Tools
  • Customer focused and an effective communicator
  • Ability to multitask many projects, people and activities at the same time
  • Must possess a customer-first attitude
  • Attention to detail and a strong Team Player
