The Accounting Specialist is responsible for supporting day-to-day accounting operations, maintaining accurate financial records, and assisting with reporting, reconciliations, and compliance tasks. This role requires strong attention to detail, good organizational skills, and the ability to work accurately with financial data.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
  • Prepare and post journal entries.
  • Reconcile bank accounts, credit card accounts, and general ledger accounts.
  • Maintain accurate records of invoices, receipts, payments, and other accounting documents.
  • Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities.
  • Prepare basic financial reports and supporting schedules.
  • Review and resolve billing, payment, and account discrepancies.
  • Support payroll processing, if required.
  • Assist with audits and preparation of audit documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with internal accounting policies and procedures.
  • Communicate with vendors, customers, and internal teams regarding accounting matters.
  • Perform other finance and administrative duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Experience

  • 1–3 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience.
  • Working knowledge of accounting principles and financial recordkeeping.
  • Experience with accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • High level of integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Experience with ERP or accounting systems.
  • Knowledge of payroll, tax filings, or audit support.
  • Prior experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, or reconciliations.

Education

  • Diploma or degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related field preferred. Equivalent work experience may be considered.
