Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, plus on-call responsibilities

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced, passionate, and highly motivated Childrens Residential Manager to lead and manage a childrens residential home in Tranmere, Liverpool.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall leadership, management, and development of the home, ensuring the highest standards of care, safeguarding, and support are provided to children and young people.
This is a senior leadership opportunity for someone with strong experience in childrens residential care, excellent people-management skills, and a genuine commitment to achieving positive outcomes for young people.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the day-to-day operation of the childrens residential home.
- Ensure the safety, welfare, safeguarding, and well-being of all children and young people.
- Create and maintain a safe, nurturing, stable, and supportive environment.
- Lead, supervise, motivate, and develop the residential care team.
- Ensure the home operates in line with relevant legislation, regulations, policies, and Ofsted requirements.
- Develop, implement, and regularly review individualised care plans tailored to each child or young persons needs.
- Take responsibility for safeguarding and child protection concerns, ensuring these are managed and reported appropriately.
- Oversee staff recruitment, induction, training, supervision, and performance management.
- Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation in line with regulatory and organisational requirements.
- Manage staffing, budgets, and resources effectively.
- Promote a positive, therapeutic, and trauma-informed approach to care.
- Build strong working relationships with families, social workers, schools, healthcare professionals, and other external agencies.
- Drive continuous improvement and ensure the home consistently delivers high-quality care and positive outcomes.
Flexible Working
We recognise the importance of flexibility and work-life balance. This role is based around a 40-hour working week, Monday to Friday, with flexibility around start and finish times where possible, depending on the needs of the home and the young people.
There will also be the opportunity to work from home on Fridays, where appropriate and dependent on the home being settled, safely staffed, and operating effectively. As the Registered Manager, you will remain responsible for ensuring the needs of the service are always met.
The role will also include on-call responsibilities to provide leadership and support outside of normal working hours when required.

Essential Experience and Qualifications
- Significant experience working within childrens residential care.
- Previous experience in a supervisory, deputy management, or management role.
- A strong understanding of Ofsted regulations and relevant legislation.
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare, or a willingness to achieve this qualification.
- Experience managing safeguarding and child protection concerns.
- Experience leading, supporting, and developing staff.
- Enhanced DBS check and relevant safeguarding training.
